The Australian Science Festival has gone under major redevelopment to deliver our valued supporters a all new exciting program of events. As part of this we will be refurbishing our website. Expect it to be up and running at sometime during the week beginning 8 February 2010.
If you are a school the official program is being released 5 February as part of the National Capital Education Project quarterly newsletter, we are mailing this out to 11,000 schools across Australia, make sure you check your mail. The Australian Science Festival is back in 2010 celebrating the variety of life. it will be in Canberra from August 2 - 15, linking its exciting program into the International year of Biodiversity.
The Festival is cultivating its 2010 line up of exciting shows, workshops and talks and wants you to be involved.
We are looking for school science show performers, workshops hosts, lecture presenters and adult science entertainers to educate, grow and nurture the community about science. In particuar performances that link into the environment and climate change.
The Australian Science Festival has several mind-blowing programs waiting for your involvement.
1. We are looking for schools performers to both attend local ACT schools and to perform in various venues around Canberra.
ACT schools will be visited by shoes and workshops on August 2 -4 and again on August 9 - 11.
Interstate Schools will be invited to view shows and workshops on August 5 - 6 and 12 - 13 in various Canberra venues.
2. We will be having themed community programs at various venues in Canberra. The first themed community program will be on forensics/geology and archaeology and runs from August 5 - 7. The second community program will be on the amazing human body and linked to spooky science (superstitions/ghosts) and runs from August 12 - 14.
If you have an activity, show, workshop or performance that fits the above themes or anything to do with the environment and climate change, we want you to participate.
The Festival is exciting, nurturing, growing and diverse environment committed to teaching and highlighting the joys and mysteries that surround the world of science.
